The Poetry of Time is a residential design that blurs the boundaries of time and space, creating a unique and poetic living experience. Inspired by the concept of light and shadow, this design combines virtual and real elements to form a modernist expression of "Poetics". With its bold and innovative approach, the Poetry of Time stands out as a masterpiece of contemporary design.
Haochen Su, the designer behind the Poetry of Time, draws inspiration from the idea that all matter in nature is light. This concept is reflected in the design's geometric form and the use of natural elements. The designer aims to create a "garden tour" experience, where different scenes unfold and the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces are blurred. The result is a residence that is not just a container for objects, but a space that resonates with human consciousness.
The unique charm of the Poetry of Time lies in its poetic construction. Vulgarity is screened out, while beauty is embraced. The space inside and outside the house form a harmonious whole. The design incorporates a variety of materials, including volcanic stone, rock plate, ceramic tile, copper plate, and wood veneer, to create a visually stunning and tactile experience.
Throughout the design process, the team behind the Poetry of Time paid careful attention to the integration of the design with the natural environment. The site and its surroundings were thoroughly investigated to ensure a seamless connection between the residence and its surroundings. The result is a design that not only provides a comfortable living space but also enhances the overall experience of the natural environment.
The Poetry of Time project started in August 2019 and was completed in April 2021 in Shanghai. The design team faced various challenges, including the need to balance bold and innovative ideas with the preferences of the owners. However, through their creative approach and the use of new ideas, they were able to overcome these challenges and create a truly exceptional design.
The Poetry of Time has been recognized for its excellence and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This award is a testament to the design's outstanding qualities and its contribution to improving the quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
With its unique blend of art, architecture, and nature, the Poetry of Time is not just a house, but a memory of a lifetime. It embodies the essence of contemporary living and offers a space for reflection, relaxation, and inspiration.
